Le Quatrième Journée

Aujourd'hui était une simple journée. Je suis allée à la classe de français, j'ai mangé un sandwich pour le dîner et je suis allée a l'heure de conversation. Plus tard, moi, Maddy, Lee et Melissa avons allée à l'avenue Cartier. Je suis allée au magasin d'animaux et j'ai acheté un jouet pour ma petite chienne. Ce soir, je vais aller à la fête de St. Jean-Baptiste (la fête nationale de Québec). Dans la ville, ils se preparent pour la fêter avec des signes parce que, aux fêtes passées, il y a eu des problèmes avec des gens indisciplinés (l'alcool). J'espère qu'il ne pleuvra pas beaucoup ce soir. Si je peux y aller, je vais poster des photos de la fête demain. Maintenant, j'attends avec impatience pour les vingt heures!

Cette semaine, j'ai fait beaucoup des excursions. Lundi, je suis allée à l'observatoire et j'ai regardé à Québec d'en haut. Après la première classe, j'ai pris un fantastique tour de Vieux Québec. Mardi, je suis allée à La Citadelle. Hier (mercredi), je suis allée au Musée de Civilisation et J'ai appris de l'histoire de Québec. Aujourd'hui, je vais aller à la fête de Saint Jean-Baptiste et j'attends avec impatience pour la fête. Je pense que j'ai aimé le plus le tour de Vieux Québec. Je pense que la ville est très belle et j'aimait regarder les Quebecois. J'aime la façon que la ville ressemble à des villes de l'Europe. Je voudrais y revenir à explorer plus.

Mes anglophones:

Today was an easy day. I went to French class, I ate a sandwich for lunch and I went to the conversation hour. Later, me, Maddy, Lee and Melissa went to the avenue Cartier. I went to a pet shop and bought a toy for my puppy. Tonight I am going to the Festival of St. John the Baptist (the national holiday of Quebec). In the city, they are preparing to celebrate with the signs because at past festivals, there were problems with unruly people (alcohol). I hope it will not rain a lot tonight. If I can go, I'll post pictures of the festival tomorrow. Now, I'm looking forward to 8 o'clock!

 This week I went on a lot of excursions. Monday, I went to the observatory and saw Quebec from above. After the first class I took a fantastic tour of Old Quebec fantastic. Tuesday, I went to The Citadel. Yesterday (Wednesday), I went to the Museum of Civilization and I learned about the history of Quebec. Today I will go to the festival of St. Jean-Baptiste and I look forward to it. I think I liked the tour of Old Quebec the best. I think that the city is very beautiful and I love watching the Quebecois. I like the way the city looks like the cities of Europe. I would like to come back to explore more.

Le Troisième Journée

Aujourd'hui était une autre bonne journée! Nous avons appris les pronoms "y" et "en" pendant la classe et nous avons joué un jeu amusant pendant l'heure de conversation. Puis nous sommes allées au Musée de Civilisation. J'ai appris plus de l'histoire de Québec et j'ai vu les anciennes choses Romains. J'aime beaucoup l'histoire et je me suis amusée beaucoup. Après ça, nous avons pris l'autobus électrique qui est très petit! C'était un bonne expérience.

Je suis très heureuse avec les gens Québécois. Tous les gens est gentil et patient avec moi et mon français. Je suis heureuse particulièrement parce que j'avait mes doutes après mon experience j'avais eu avec les gens en France. Je ne pouvais pas être plus heureuse avec mon expérience ici au Québec; comme je disait, les gens sont gentils. Je pense qu'il n'y a pas un meilleur lieu pour apprendre le français. La ville est très belle, les gens sont sympas, et les gens peuvent aider les élèves parce qu'ils parlent un peu d'anglais. Les Québecois parlent rapidement et des temps de temps, c'est difficile à comprendre. Par exemple, le guide touristique à La Citadelle parlait très rapidement et j'avais problèmes avec compréhension. Mais j'ai compris quelques mots et ça va aller. Je comprends mieux chaque jour et je ne pouvais pas être plus heureuse :) :) (Peut-être si j'aie ma petite chienne, mon petit ami, et ma famille)

Pour les anglophones:

Today was another good day! We learned the pronouns y and during class and we played a fun game during the hours of conversation. Then we went to the Museum of Civilization. I learned the history of Quebec and saw things from ancient Rome. I love history and I had a lot of fun. After that, we took the electric bus which is very small! It was a good experience.

 I am very happy with the people of Quebec. Everyone is kind and patient with me and my French. I am particularly happy because I had my doubts after my experience I had with people in France. I could not be happier with my experience here in Quebec, as I said, people are nice. I think that there is no better place to learn French. The city is beautiful, friendly people, and people can help students because they speak a little English. Quebecers speak quickly and from time to time, it is difficult to understand. For example, the tour guide at The Citadel spoke very quickly and I had problems with understanding. But I understood a few words and it was alright. I understand better each day and I could not be happier :):) (Maybe if I had my little dog, my boyfriend and my family with me)

****Note for Jamie!! If anyone reading this sees her please show her. On my way home from the grocery store today, I came across a lost cat sign :( and it made me think of you et mon niveu. Il me manque! You can see why.

Le Deuxième Journée

Aujourd'hui je me sens bien. Je comprends mieux qu'hier déjà. J'aime la langue de Québec mais il est difficile pour moi d'entendre les differences entre le français de Québec et le français de France. Je remarquais que les quebecois utilisent le mot "stationnement" au lieu de le mot "parking" de les français. Et ils disent "bienvenue" au lieu de "de rien" pour la reponse de "merci". L'accent n'est pas très different; Je ne remarquais pas un accent beaucoup quand les personnes quebecois parlent. Mais si je fais attention, je peux le remarquer un peu. Les Quebecois utilisent plus du nez quand ils parlent, en particulier avec les voyelles. Il ne me dérange pas.

 Today was the first day of our normal schedule. Meaning that I had french class from 9 until noon, then a lunch break, then 2 hours of a french conversation class. After that we went to La Citadelle, the fort of Quebec.

During the conversation hour, we went to the park on the Plains of Abraham. I saw these little guys, groundhogs. The one in the shade appeared to be a baby :) I learned the french word for them  (raton de la terre) which translates to rat of the ground. But they were much cuter than rats!

 I also saw this guy at the park. Its hard to tell but his front half is black and the back half is brown. Il est bizarre! But when he saw us he jumped on the table and laid down. Very odd but cute :)

 And here is his friend. I did not know that black squirrels were in Canada.

 Je me souviens is the motto Quebec. You see it everywhere. I learned today that it does not mean that the Quebecois remember their French heritage; it means that they remember they come from both British and French heritage.

The Citadelle was interesting but I had a very hard time understanding the tour guide as he spoke pretty quickly. After the Citadelle, we went to a Starbucks-like Canadian café, Second Cup. It was nice after a day of learning and walking to relax. Back at the residence we decided upon what excursions we all want to do for the rest of the trip. Its good to be decided! I'm excited to see the Native American village and the waterfalls. And of course the party this week! I want to do everything! I wish I had the time and the money. Looks like I'll have to return someday :) :) I'm missing everyone very much. Especially mon petit famille avec Michael, Jamie et Leela :( I hope you're not enjoying yourselves too much in my absence :) Et bien sur, mon pere and my mom et ma petite soeur. Malheuresment, I'm used to being away from Megaboo for awhile but theres always a bit of missing! I cant believe it has only been a few days. I guess because I have been so busy it feels like longer. I'm having a great time and wish you all could be here with me. I know Crista would like Vieux Quebec because it looks very similar to the French cities. After this, I should be able to take you guys to French cities and be the official translator :) :) I guess I kind of already was.

Once again, missing you guys lots. Michael, donne mon amour et des bisous à ma petite chienne. Je pense d'elle souvent. Elle me manque.

Le premier jour

 

Je prends quelques photos aujourd'hui :)

Aujourd'hui était le premier journée. Je me suis amusée beaucoup! Nous avons eu la première classe aujourd'hui et je l'aime beaucoup. Compréhension est un peu difficile mais je m'efforce sans cesse. J'aime beaucoup mon prof; elle s'appelle Nancy et elle est trés gentil. Elle parle français clair et lentement suffisament pour comprendre. J'aime tous mes camarades de classe; je m'amuse habiter avec eux. La résidence est mieux que je pensais! Elle est grande et belle; elle est parfait! Le pays du Canada est fantastique; les Québeçoises sont très sympathiques. Aujourd'hui nous avons fait le tour de Vieux Québec et il est très beau. La ville a beaucoup des sculptures, des fleurs et des cafés. Je les adore! Les edifices sont beaux et l'architecture ressemble cette de l'Europe; je l'adore aussi. Tous les personnes étaient gentil. Au moment, je suis très content avec mon voyage :)

Maintenant, pour mes amis anglophone:

 Today was the first day. I had fun a lot! We had the first class today and I like very much. Understanding is a bit difficult but I try hard. I like my teacher, her name is Nancy and she is very friendly. She speaks French clearly and slowly enough to understand. I like all my classmates; I enjoy living with them. The residence is better than I thought! It is big and beautiful; it's perfect! The country of Canada is fantastic, Quebecers are very friendly. Today we walked around Old Quebec and it is very beautiful. The city has many sculptures, flowers and cafés. I love them! The buildings are beautiful and the architecture resembles that of Europe, I love it also. All the people were nice. At the moment, I am very happy with my trip :)

Predeparture

I'm getting really excited as its only days until we leave. I just have to get through my finals now :) Then its time to pack and make the final preparations. I can't wait!
